Resource Capacity Planning

Information Technology projects typically utilize a matrix organizational structure where work is driven by Project Managers.  A Resource Manager has overall management responsibility for the resources and the quality of the work delivered by their people. As the primary manager of resources you need to easily track the multi-project work that your staff has completed, manage your staff’s current workload and be able to forecast long-term resource needs.

The Project Network provides this ability through core features designed to work interactively between the Resource Managers and the Project Managers in your organization.  First, the Project Manager estimates resources needed from a project.

This resource capacity information can be loaded directly into the Resource Plan or loaded from a Project Plan.

Resource Plans for all projects and resources can then be matched to available resources by the Resource Manager.

The Project Network provides the functionality to integrate the estimates for projects, support and even time-off providing a comprehensive picture of your organizations staffing needs.

Resource Managers have the capability to view overall requests and workloads of their staff from high level summaries.
